Castleford Academy Trust is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust comprising currently of five schools: two secondary academies, one primary academy, one junior academy and one infant academy. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a geographic cluster within Wakefield. Castleford Academy Trust is in a period of transition which will see the Trust grow significantly with the academies within Northern Ambition Academies Trust planning to join the Trust in February 2025. Trust Lead Attendance Officer 37 hours per week- Whole Year (Term time plus 15 days and flexible working considered) Castleford Academy Trust believes that access to a high-quality education is the right of every child. The Trust is seeking to appoint a Lead Attendance Officer with the responsibility of creating a strong attendance culture across all of the academies within the Trust. The role will involve supporting and challenging our academies to develop effective processes that reduce pupil and family barriers to attendance. We are seeking to appoint an experienced person who can support academies and deliver a trust-wide attendance strategy that helps support the achievement of pupils. The successful candidate will be able to relate well to staff, support the good practice in place, and be confident to challenge leaders and external partners when necessary. The post will involve a combination of work with pupils, parents, and carers to improve attendance as well as more strategic-based responsibilities and support with high level conversations and actions with external agencies. Your application will need to demonstrate that you are/have: Experience of working in the area of attendance and educational welfare. Substantial and successful experience of leading on attendance improvement strategies. Conversant with a wide range of attendance and pupil welfare related legislations. The ability to engage with parents at an appropriate level in order for them to build a positive relationship with both the post holder and agencies. Able to analyse attendance data, identifying historical trends and plan future actions. Expert knowledge of support agencies and the roles they play to support children and families. A strong commitment to personal development for all staff including yourself. You will also need to be: Supportive of the Trust’s ethos and values at all times both within the Trust and the wider community. Committed to inspiring pupils and staff in the development initiatives and strategies, promoting whole school improvement. An excellent communicator who is at ease with all stakeholders. Able to demonstrate an ability to be resilient and determined whilst also providing support. Willing and able to undertake regular travel between academy sites and have a full UK driving licence.
