Fixed Term Contract role in Finance. Located in Leeds - Hybrid. Your new role at NewDay An exciting opportunity to work as part of the Finance team for a fast-paced, innovative finance company. The role is ideally suited to a candidate looking to work and develop in a dynamic environment collaborating with contacts across Finance, Commercial and Credit teams. As a member of the Financial Control team, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality month end close processes. You will deliver insightful analysis and reporting of performance to support decision making. Key Responsibilities: Own the month end close process for Risk-Adjusted Income for assigned retailer portfolios, working with stakeholders across the Finance, Commercial and Credit teams to ensure accurate accounting in compliance with IFRS. Work closely with Commercial Finance, providing insightful analysis of performance and highlighting drivers of variances to budget/forecast. Own the associated balance sheet reconciliations ensuring high quality support is in place and support monthly balance sheet reporting and analysis. Support the external auditors with regards to your areas of responsibility, ensuring a smooth audit process at each reporting cycle where auditor input is required. Ensure all deliverables adhere to the Financial Control Framework and contribute to the delivery of continuous process and control improvements for assigned areas of responsibility. We need knowledge, experience + expertise in: A qualified accountant. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and experience of implementing accounting policies to ensure compliance with standards. High attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to analyse performance to deliver insight which is presented clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence a range of business partners at all levels, both internal and external. Resilient and proactive with strong organisational skills to ensure delivery of high quality outputs to challenging deadlines. Strong risk and control mentality with high attention to detail. And would love you to know or learn: Experience within financial services. Good knowledge of IFRS 9. Experience in use of finance systems (Sun GL, Infor Q&A).
