Remote within UK We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to advance the DevOps capability at healthcare company within their IT Delivery function. DevOps is a newly introduced practice within the organisation and you will be expected to build on the existing environment and work across Development, Data and Architecture teams to ensure that all areas of IT are working cohesively. As a DevOps Engineer, you will develop and establish the tooling and processes that enable continuous deployment and improve the release efficiency. Your primary focus will be establishing safe processes to ensure the rapid deployment of code from development to production while also ensuring the overall stability, scalability, and efficiency of the systems and integration practices. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of driving initiatives forward and maturing the DevOps practice to eventually lead a team of talented engineers. Duties and responsibilities Develop/Establish and maintain a robust continuous deployment pipeline that enables seamless software delivery across all environments, from development to production. Design, implement, and maintain the necessary tooling, frameworks, and automation scripts required for efficient deployment and management of applications, infrastructure and integration workloads. Work on integrating cloud-based systems with existing on-premises infrastructure and ensuring seamless data transfer between the two environments. Partner with cross-functional teams, including software development, IT operations and Infrastructure, drive the adoption of DevOps best practices and ensure smooth and timely releases. Set up and manage monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance, availability, and security. Analyse metrics and logs to identify areas for optimisation and implement necessary changes to enhance performance. Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate DevOps tools, technologies, and platforms to enhance the deployment process and overall infrastructure. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to validate requirements and provide technical solutions that align with the company's objectives. Liaising with external resources (suppliers / manufacturers / support providers) Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in DevOps practices, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies, and propose innovative approaches to enhance our releases. Experience At least 3 years in DevOps focused positions. Strong demonstrable experience using Azure Cloud. Scripting experience in at least one language (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Containerisation/Orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. Solid experience of working with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) products, ARM, Terraform, Ansible, Chef etc. Knowledge of Security / DevSecOps tools and practices Work across Automation, Python, CI/CD and Monitoring technologies Capable implementing / driving DevOps best practices If this role is of interest, please apply with your up to date CV.
