Hays Civil Engineering is delighted to be partnering on a retained basis with Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD), a firm of civil, structural, and environmental engineering consultants. The company has been established for 50 years and is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. Current annual revenues exceed £20M and employee numbers exceed 200. ROD has an office in Otley near Leeds and two offices in Dublin. ROD is seeking to recruit an Associate/Technical Director to support the further growth of the ROD UKL business in the transportation sector. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven ability to provide technical leadership, develop professional teams, and provide high-quality service to clients. Responsibilities

Provide leadership for the transportation team, overseeing, supporting, advising, and coaching the engineering professionals. Supervise highways and transportation projects, lead design evolution and checking with full technical responsibility for deliverables, assign responsibilities and allocate resources efficiently. Lead and direct bidding efforts for new highways and transportation projects. Be part of the management team in the wider ROD Transportation Group, including organizing ROD UKL inputs to projects in Ireland and coordinating resources in Ireland to support UK bidding and projects. Maintain excellent levels of customer service. Report to the Managing Director of the ROD UKL business. Undertake group-wide management functions allocated by the Board. Required Skills and Experience

A Chartered Engineer with a university degree, coupled with in excess of 15 years experience in Civil Engineering design. Excellent technical skills in the design of highways, streets, and transportation projects. Commercial and financial acumen. Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Capable of representing the company with clients and external parties. Experience of traffic network analysis is desirable but not essential. What you'll get in return
