A Northumberland based boutique advisory firm offering high level tax advisory to a range of HNWI and SME clients across the north east covering all aspects of both corporate and private client issues are seeking a tax professional to support with existing work whilst also playing an active role in overseeing the compliance process and supporting with review, planning and delivery. As the Tax Compliance Manager for a small team you will oversee the delivery of work on a portfolio across the team of in excess of 650 tax returns for clients, ensuring the delivery of all their compliance needs in a timely manner. You will have a broad and interesting portfolio including high net worth individuals, trusts, non-doms and non-residents and assist with capital gains and other considerations. You will be responsible for liaising with these clients, preparing and submitting the personal tax return and liaising with both HMRC and the client throughout. Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate filing of personal tax returns while staying up-to-date with tax regulations. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things compliance. Prepare and review tax returns, computations, and disclosures for statutory accounts. Provide basic tax planning advice to optimise tax efficiency and mitigate risks. Liaise with external tax advisors and HMRC as necessary. Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, guiding them through their personal tax needs with a friendly touch. Training, development, leadership and review for tax staff. Experience required:

Applicants will be working in an existing tax compliance role, perhaps looking for a new challenge in a smaller team that gets you closer to your clients, alternatively an Assistant Manager feeling ready to step up to Manager. With a minimum of ATT qualified and 3 years + compliance experience, it would be beneficial if you have some corporate tax experience and/or advisory exposure. The role is office based in order to help lead the team and provide presence, but does offer flexibility to work from home each week. The team are a small one offering a relaxed and friendly environment to be in. The role offers an enjoyable portfolio to challenge your technical knowledge at the same time as a work life balance and both part and full-time hours available.
