Job Purpose To guarantee full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices, this role will lead the site’s EHS management system. The primary goal is to foster a safe and environmentally responsible workplace for all employees and the local community. Key Duties and Responsibilities Engage & Communicate Engage with colleagues at all levels to promote a highly engaged EHS culture across the site through behavioural observations, coaching, analysis, communication, and engagement with all relevant parties. Coach, advise and support all staff to ensure safe systems of work are robust and maintained. Ensure effective communication takes place through all channels to maintain awareness of EHS issues through regular meetings, briefings, information, and consultation at the site EHS forums. Standard and Management Systems Develop, implement and maintain the relevant management systems which support the recognised EHS certifications and other standards in conjunction with the Head of EHS (e.g., ISO14001/45001/MCerts). Lead subject specific projects, applying knowledge and experience as directed by the Head of EHS. Manage the site risk assessment register, monitor progress of action completion, and support completion of specialist risk assessments for the site. Maintain and administer the Incident Management System, ensuring all incidents are investigated to root cause and closed out sufficiently. Ensure systems are in place to monitor, measure, and confirm effectiveness through evaluation. Policy, Procedure & Training Ensure that Policies, Procedures, Documents, Records, and Specifications, which include EHS elements, are signed off and reviewed to schedule. Lead in identifying EHS training requirements, monitor training updates, and deliver specific EHS training across the Group. KPIs Monitor and ensure that required reports and KPIs are collated and communicated on a timely basis. Audits & Visits Administer and review the Internal EHS Auditing system ensuring all audits are completed as per agreed schedule. Host internal and external EHS audits with site management. Incident Management Support Operations in identifying and dealing with incidents and emergencies. Manage the long- and short-term response to EHS incidents and emergencies. Project Work Provide EHS input to projects and coordinate Environmental and EH&S matters. Qualifications/Experience Working Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001/14001 management system standards. NEBOSH Level 3 National General Certificate Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent. NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or commitment to achieving this level. IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management or commitment to achieving. Behavioural Competencies Teamwork: Able to work in a team environment. Leadership: Able to lead a defined project team. Trustworthy: Able to take own decisions. Communication: Clear communicator. Flexible: Able to adapt to changing work needs. Organised: Can prioritise workload effectively.
