JOB DESCRIPTION:
General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager - packaging manufacturing, packaging solutions
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be directly responsible for the 3 current department managers: Office, Design, and Production. You will also oversee the other 20 members of staff, resolving any customer service issues, liaising with 3rd parties, handling Health and Safety, maintenance issues, design, and any disciplinary matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage up to 20 members of staff across Office, Design, and Production. Maintain minimum raw material stock levels. Organise machine and transport maintenance plans, including preventative maintenance visits. Oversee site and building maintenance. Responsible for people management, recruitment, motivation, training, and development. Ensure health and safety compliance. Manage and control all expenditure within agreed budgets. Maintain the ISO Quality Assurance Accreditation Programme. Provide leadership, strategic direction, and facilities management to the unit. Set high personal and professional standards in line with company policy.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: We welcome applications from individuals who meet the following criteria: Proven track record in general, operational, or manufacturing management, preferably from the packaging industry (not essential). Customer-facing experience is desirable. Hands-on management style. Organised yet flexible individual. Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001. Experience in working to and developing processes. Drive, enthusiasm, and an authoritative presence. Good interpersonal skills. Able to work autonomously with a methodical and careful approach.
