Senior Researcher - Law - London
A leading international law firm has a requirement for a Senior Researcher to join their London based team. This is a new requirement within the firm and one in which the successful candidate will play a key role in the process of growing the capability and visibility of the research service. At heart, this is a research role with responsibility for servicing both business and legal enquiries, but the position will also require the successful candidate to balance their research responsibilities with the need to engage with the firm to drive awareness, and to work on a number of projects that are key to the growth of the function.
The primary objectives and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
The provision of a legal research service for lawyers throughout the firm
The provision of business research including sector or company profiling, competitor intelligence that feeds into the firms strategic initiatives
Playing a key role in driving awareness and engagement with the firm, and "winning the business" for this function
Participating in a number of projects that will support the growth and capability of this function
The provision of a current awareness service that cuts across the firms different practice areas
Contributing to other Knowledge Management initiatives and processes within the function such as supporting the development of the intranet
Operating as an SME for research resources and processes, and the provision of training for lawyers
Ensuring that the firm is getting ROI for resources and research tools via reporting and seeking out opportunities to leverage new resources that become available
To be a suitable candidate for this Senior Researcher role, candidates will require the following:
Previous experience in a similar research orientated role, preferably gained within legal or professional services
Experience in both legal research and servicing complex business research requests.
Considerable experience across an array of legal and business research resources and databases
Experience in the provision of KM including the delivery of a current awareness service and supporting the development of intranets
Highly developed interpersonal, relationship building and stakeholder management skills
Experiencebalancing enquiry-led researchwork with ongoing projects that support and underpin thegrowth of the function
The ability to mentor and to train users on research resources and databases
