Commercial Manager – Fuel Sourcing

to join our innovative team. This pivotal role will be central to driving fuel supply strategy, building robust supplier relationships, and contributing to the growth and success of our merchant energy recovery facilities. Key Responsibilities Fuel Supply Agreements:

Negotiate and secure renewal and new multi-year contracts with commercial waste suppliers to ensure facilities operate at optimal capacity and profitability. Bid Leadership:

Manage Local Authority tenders, lead cross-functional bid teams, and develop compelling solutions to win municipal waste contracts. Strategic Development:

Deliver on key objectives from the Fuel Strategy, Business Plan, and Value Creation Plan (VCP) while identifying new business opportunities. Alternative Waste Sourcing:

Develop strategies and manage projects to secure value-enhancing waste streams, ensuring compliance with environmental standards. Market Intelligence:

Analyze market trends and pricing to inform fuel supply plans and optimize revenue. Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective solutions and maintain strong relationships. What We’re Looking For Experience:

Demonstrable expertise in the waste management industry, particularly in contract negotiations and strategic fuel sourcing. Local Authority bidding experience is advantageous but not essential. Knowledge:

Familiarity with government procurement processes, waste market dynamics, and alternative waste streams. Experience in waste exports/imports is a plus. Skills:

Strong interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage complex projects. Competencies:

Confidence in presenting to clients and negotiating contracts. Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and teams. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to inform strategic decisions. Flexible and willing to travel as required.
