A large firm with offices in Newcastle city centre is looking to appoint a Personal Tax Senior to their Private Wealth service line where you will be part of the tax, trusts and accounting team. With a great deal of autonomy, you will assume responsibility for a portfolio of clients, preparing personal and trustees’ tax returns. The role: Preparation of tax returns for review and undertaking peer reviews Working with a portfolio that includes company directors, trusts and estates, and high net worth individuals with some international exposure Dealing with the day-to-day tax affairs for your client portfolio and those more junior in the team Ensuring engagement letters are in place for all clients Ensuring fees are agreed and billed accordingly Assisting other members of your tax team in the overall management of client affairs Liaison with HMRC Attending client meetings where appropriate Your experience: We are hoping to find an individual who has a minimum of two years experience completing UK tax returns It would be desirable, yet not essential, if the successful candidate had some experience of trusts and Inheritance tax ATT part or fully qualified would be advantageous Experience gained from an accounting practice Confident working with tax systems as well as Microsoft Excel Good communication skills both oral and written Working arrangements: The opportunity is open on both full and part-time hours, with flexibility to consider different working patterns within the core day Monday to Friday with variable start and finish times. The role is offered on a hybrid basis where you can divide your time between home and the office.
