Role - Civil Site Manager
Location - Cowley, Oxford
We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager to lead the delivery of a 1.5km cable route connecting to a National Grid substation, forming part of a BESS project. This role requires strong expertise in managing civil works and working closely with Independent Connection Providers.
Scope of work:
Oversee all civil construction activities for the cable route and substation connection.
Coordinate and manage works involving ICPs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Enforce adherence to National Grid specifications, health and safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards, address technical issues, and maintain project timelines.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and delivery.
Monitor resources, budgets, and progress, reporting on key milestones and potential risks.
Experience to be considered:
SMSTS or SSSTS
CSCS
First Aid
Proven experience managing civil construction projects, ideally in the energy or utility sectors.
Strong knowledge of ICPs and their role in utility projects.
Familiarity with National Grid standards and substation infrastructure.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
This role will be an initial 4-month contract and LTD or CIS.
