Exclusively Advertised by Axon Moore This role is extremely exciting and a new position within our client’s business, with scope for developing a full procurement team over the coming months. Our client is a PE backed specialist provider of technical services who are part of a group of companies with national coverage. Axon Moore is looking for an extremely experienced Head of Purchasing to join this growing organisation. This role heads up the group’s procurement function. You will be required to build strong relationships with colleagues and the supply chain to deliver the most cost-efficient goods and services without compromising on quality. You will have full responsibility for developing, implementing, and managing standardised procurement processes across the group to add value. Please note this role will be based in Chorley but allows flexible working 1-2 days a week. More about the role:

Running Tender Activities

You’ll be responsible for ensuring suitable tender processes are run to achieve the best value for money: Manage procurement requests raised by the business Sourcing multiple suitable quotes where necessary Enter long-term framework arrangements for goods and services purchased on a repeat basis Ensure terms and conditions are reviewed against internal group policy and negotiated to the best position for the business Track Your Savings

You’ll develop a method to log savings generated for the business: Used to set and monitor targets This information may support business cases for further investment within the procurement team Build and Manage a Team

You will head up the procurement team and be responsible for the hiring and ongoing development of all staff: Recruit ‘A Players’ who want to grow with the organisation Develop the staff that you manage Work alongside the Commercial Director to develop the team structure Develop, Implement and Manage Procurement Processes

You will standardise the way the business buys throughout the group, ensuring the chosen systems are utilised: Capture suitable data for all purchases across the group Develop systems to be fit for purpose with the in-house PMO and development team Create new processes & controls, ensuring successful implementation across the group You will naturally become a trusted business partner to key colleagues, and the company wants you to become the go-to person for any procurement-related activities: Liaise with the Heads of to develop and deliver on the group’s strategy Work with newly acquired organisations to ensure they begin utilising group processes and approved supply chain partners Get involved in some tendering and estimation support as needed to enable the business to accurately quote for new work Desirable Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Purchasing/Procurement CIPS or similar professional membership Knowledge & Experience:

Demonstrable experience within a similar role. Experience of operating in a multi-divisional organisation would be beneficial. Up-to-date knowledge of contractual law and procurement practice. Proven negotiation experience. A track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. Benefits
