Senior Photonics Design Engineer - South West England Global technology company seeks a Senior Photonics Design Engineer to lead development of innovative fiber-optic products for industrial, aerospace & defense, and bio-photonics applications. Key Responsibilities: Design cutting-edge optical/photonic components and systems Lead team development and performance management Drive product development strategy Collaborate on prototype builds and testing Present to internal and external stakeholders Requirements: Degree in Engineering or Physics (PhD preferred) Extensive knowledge of fiber-optics and photonics Experience with optical design tools (e.g., Zemax) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines Experience in satellite communications, industrial sensing, or biomedical imaging preferred
