Civil Engineer Would you like to work for a company who care and invest in their staff's development with a real focus on training and career progression? My client, who is based close to the stunning Peak District, is currently searching for an experienced Civil Engineer and a Principal Engineer to join their expanding practice in Derby. My client is a busy Civil, Structural, Highway and Transportation Engineering Consultancy with offices across the Midlands. The opportunity is for an ambitious and diligent individual to be based in Derby to assist with a wide variety of projects from domestic, industrial, commercial, and conservation sectors. The successful candidate(s) should ideally be working towards their CEng and be familiar with Micro drainage, AutoCAD including Civils' 3D. A good knowledge of Site 3D and PDS would be useful. However, the company is happy to accept applications from candidates with little to no experience in these software tools and will offer full training. Essential Skills: Detailed analysis and modelling of drainage 3D highway design and alignment, including horizontal and vertical alignment detail Knowledge of various Council design standards (advantageous) Desirable Skills: Concept design including a working knowledge of drainage design standards and good practice including SuDS Sound commercial awareness and comfort in a client-facing role Ability to mentor junior staff (advantageous) Personal attributes include a diligent approach to project management, the ability to prioritise, and excellent time management skills. Meticulous attention to detail and effective communication, both written and oral, are essential. You will also demonstrate confident team/networking skills.
