We are recruiting a Head of Projects to join the team located in Farnborough with various sites across the South and Greater London. Purpose of the Job Lead teams in the safe delivery of projects. Have overall responsibility for generating a sales pipeline to deliver revenue to the BU. Ensure projects are secured and delivered on time and within specified financial requirements and margins. Ensure all projects adhere to commercial agreements/contracts, comply with statutory regulations, are QHSE compliant, and meet technical industry standards. General Activities Ensure the safe delivery of projects through risk and competence management. Recruit and retain talent for current and future project delivery. Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities. Deliver contractual commitments on secured projects. Ensure projects are delivered on all maintenance contracts. Complete projects on time, on budget, and to the satisfaction of all parties. Identify, reduce, and manage all risks associated with each project. Maximise profit through cost reductions and better buying of subcontractor services. Identify and win projects through effective relationships. Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership, and contributions to management team meetings. Promote and maintain the core values of CBRE. Business Development Plan and develop long-term opportunities by creating a pipeline of opportunities. Develop and manage all bids, tenders, and proposals. Generate and secure new sales to exceed the annual financial plan. Seek opportunities to generate projects through innovation and new technologies. Lead the sales process through solutions development and participation in presentations. Building Relationships Develop effective relationships with current and potential customers. Build strong relationships with supply partners to bring innovation to customers. Ensure effective solutions that meet quality expectations are delivered. Work with operational managers for collaborative project development. Compliance Ensure team compliance with project management policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with health and safety policy across all activities. Conduct monthly project review meetings covering all aspects of Health & Safety/CDM Legislation. Engage with supply partners to ensure risk is appropriately apportioned. Financial Management Develop project financial plans. Financial responsibility for the annual projects plan delivery. Manage the monthly P&L and ensure all costs are fully accountable and recoverable. Produce monthly and ad hoc financial reports. Ensure positive cash flow and that all debt is controlled below 60 days. Chair monthly project reviews with relevant managers. People Management Recruit, train, appraise, and manage a team of exceptional PM delivery team. Ensure Project Managers are fully trained and equipped to deliver projects according to CBRE policies. Conduct performance reviews and create individual PDPs for direct reports. Responsible for recruitment and selection of all project staff and resolving any discipline and grievance issues. Experience Required: Skills Commercial awareness Strong financial acumen Strong influencing, selling, and negotiation skills Confident presentation skills Understanding of commercial and financial metrics Customer management skills Networking skills Knowledge Knowledge of the construction market Project management methodology Understanding of construction Health and Safety law Understanding of general financial terminology Experience Strong project experience in the data centre industry. Proven experience of selling and pitching for new project work. Proven experience of managing project managers. Extensive industry knowledge and strong sales background. Demonstrable evidence of team management. Experience in creating, presenting, and managing bids and proposals. Qualifications Recognised technical qualification in construction, mechanical, or electrical discipline. Business standard of written and verbal literacy and above-average numeracy skills. Recognised qualification in project management.
