Job Description

An award-winning Consultancy has a unique opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to join their team within a Consultative role working from either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The company has recently grown, won new business, and obtained new projects. As such, they require an individual to work at a senior level to provide a high-quality actuarial service to their clients within their Private sector Pensions team but also have opportunities in the Public Sector. This is a diverse role; both focusing on technical aspects along with relationship building with key decision-makers, account management to deliver service to clients, proactive business growth along with mentoring less experienced members of the team. The role shall also include participating in the preparation of technical papers for internal and external publications and the development of new propositions and services. You would also have the opportunity to be proactive in the marketing and new business activity for the firm. A prerequisite for the role is to be a Fellow member of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent actuarial qualifications). As a Consulting Actuary, you will have a solid technical pensions background - covering joined-up investment and actuarial advice and valuations within either/both the private/public sector. Some experience of bulk transfers, an understanding of employee benefits issues to help your clients, and knowing actions to take would also be advantageous. What is key is a highly client-focused individual, a confident communicator, and also commercially focused in their approach. The successful individual would be a passionate, self-motivated, and enthusiastic employee who enjoys leading teams with strong consulting skills and who enjoys having an innovative approach to their work. For the right individual, they may be able to offer them the next step in their career. In return, they are offering a truly unique opportunity to join their award-winning team, make an impact, and see what benefit you bring to their future growth. A highly competitive salary is on offer, along with excellent benefits, bonus/profit share. They are eager to ensure this role is filled quickly as the account is critical for their team. Please get in touch as soon as possible to discuss or apply below, to discuss in detail with Alison confidentially prior to submission.
