Role overview You would be acting for clients, including limited companies and sole traders, operating in a wide range of business sectors.
The Head of the UHY National Cloud Group is a senior manager in our office and we are looking for someone to join a growing and ambitious accounts team to support our local Cloud strategy.
Job description
Support our manager team in a variety of areas, including training needs and complex accounts work.
Preparation of financial statements, year-end accounts, and other accounting returns (VAT, Management accounts, cash flow forecasts, etc).
Assist managers and supervisors in preparing accounts for a variety of businesses.
Champion cloud accounting benefits, specifically Xero, and assist clients with Making Tax Digital implications.
Help clients interpret their accounting data and provide innovative solutions.
Train and mentor junior staff in bookkeeping and accounts.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work closely with the manager team in driving projects forward.
Substantial accounting experience in practice, including preparation of statutory and management accounts, VAT, and bookkeeping.
Qualified AAT or qualified by experience.
Working arrangements The working week: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) from 9.00 AM to 5.30 PM with some flexibility for specific work demands. Office-based with the potential for remote work after probation.

Person specifications - Experience/skills that are desirable
A recognised accountancy qualification (AAT) and/or qualified by experience.
Experience in an accountancy practice and enthusiasm for working with a variety of client businesses.
Experience in Sage and/or QuickBooks.
Experience using Xero (Essential).
Experience using cloud software (Essential).
Experience using CCH.
