Estio Training offers a new opportunity for a Field Engineer Apprentice with TDM Group Limited, a Managed IT Service provider.
Role Summary:
To provide 1 st
and 2 nd
line support and to help deliver projects onsite at our client-partner sites.
Responsibilities:
Software installations: Windows Server, Linux, and Windows Desktop versions.
Hardware installations and racking: servers, thin clients, storage devices, and switches.
Initial troubleshooting for hardware failure.
PC/laptop hardware support and rollouts.
Office move projects.
Installation, termination, testing, and labeling of cross connects in our Data Centre or other facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Configuration of desktop/server hardware installation and builds.
Working in data centres to install new rack, servers, storage, and network devices.
Repairing or troubleshooting faulty equipment, installing and configuring hardware and software.
Resolving first line user support requests onsite and over the phone.
Travelling to client sites in England for onsite presence and project work.
Playing an active role in the team and supporting others during busy periods.
Qualifications:
5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths).
Skills Required:
Good hardware knowledge – PCs, laptops, servers, and printers.
Good understanding of Windows and MAC operating systems, and mobile devices.

Effective team player.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Confident and proactive approach to work.
Attention to detail.
Versatile and adaptable.

This role offers the potential for a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, contingent on performance.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship provides an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification with training in:
Operating and controlling ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services, and data storage.
Using infrastructure management tools to automate provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure components.
Prioritizing systems support tasks and maintaining system performance.
Maintaining regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
Supporting the information systems needs for your business.
