An exciting opportunity is available for an Automation Scientist to join a growing start-up. With state-of-the-art facilities and a robust pipeline of upcoming projects, this role offers the chance to contribute to innovative research and development. Responsibilities: As a Scientist in the Automation Team, you will: Work as part of a dedicated Automation team to plan automated methods and workflows and develop programming best practices (total team of three). Work cross-functionally with teams across the company to plan automated methods and workflows based on their manual lab processes. Program and troubleshoot automated methods, workflows, and equipment. Author controlled documentation and provide training to members of other teams on methods you’ve developed. Communicate regularly in group meetings and present to project teams and internal stakeholders. Experience Required: Essential Experience: BSc or MSc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field. Candidates with a BSc or MSc in engineering would be considered if they have relevant experience in a life sciences related role. Three or more years of experience in industry or academia, in laboratory automation. Programming and method development of liquid handling robots, ideally Hamilton STAR series liquid handlers. Developing automated methods for cell culture workflows. Troubleshooting and maintenance of automated workflows and equipment. Use of a general-purpose programming language for solving problems or aiding automated workflows, e.g. Python or another programming language. Strong organisational and communication skills to manage own project timelines and work cross-functionally with other departments in the business. Desirable Experience: Providing training in automated methods. Writing SOPs (standard operating procedures) and training documents to a high standard. Automation of plate readers and incubators as part of integrated workflows. LIMS systems, such as Benchling - and associated with this, sample tracking and management through databases e.g. SQL. Use of software version control, e.g. Git. Salary:
