We are currently recruiting for a Head of Quality for a Precision Engineering business supplying into the Aerospace and Defence industries, based in the Glasgow area. With the workload throughout the Quality Assurance department increasing with their increasingly busier order book, they are looking to add a Head of Quality to join their Senior Management team.
What does it involve? Lead the organisation through internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing certification to AS9100 and other relevant standards. Oversee all quality assurance and control activities, from supplier management to final product inspection. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Embed a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices. Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the Quality team and across the organisation.
What's needed for me to be considered? Proven experience in a senior Quality leadership role within the Aerospace & Defence and/or Precision Engineering sectors. In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality standards. QA Skills - PPAP, PFMEA, Control plan & process flow diagram creation. Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and their application in an engineering environment - ISO 45001. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Previous experience in a machine shop environment - CNC Machining and Metrology.
