About The Company: They are a mechanical service contracting business with roots in Leicestershire since 1982, they have established a reputation for excellence in the HVAC industry. They have extensive experience in the design and installation of air conditioning and ventilation systems, particularly in the healthcare and medical imaging sectors. Their expansion into Havant, Hampshire, and their continuous investment in professional staff, training, and technology reflect their commitment to meeting the increasingly complex and varied needs of their clients. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their busy team.

Main Responsibilities:

Take lead on all Health and Safety activities, including creating and maintaining accurate and up to date health and safety records (including risk assessments, policies accident investigations, training).

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Investigate accidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.

Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident reports, inspection findings, and recommendations for improvement.

Develop and implement training programs and toolbox talk for employees.

Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to workplace safety.

To ensure general administration of the Health and Safety service is carried out in an accurate and timely manner.

Encourage and provide health and safety initiatives.

Other duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

Experience / Qualifications needed:

Experience as health and safety officer (essential).

NEBOSH qualification (desirable).

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Full UK driving licence.
