Vacancy for Delivery Manager at The National Archives

1 March 2020 Richmond upon Thames, London Full-Time About the role:

The National Archives has a long history of delivering high-quality, ambitious digital services to diverse audiences. We want to be at the forefront of creating innovative ways for our users to access culture and heritage. As a Delivery Manager, within the Digital Archiving department, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk digital products and services, beginning with The National Archives' new Transfer Digital Records product (TDR) which is entering its beta phase. TDR is an innovative service, transforming the way public bodies send their digital records into The National Archives to be preserved for future generations.

This is a key element of our ambitious vision to transform our services, ensure the public record thrives and survives, and open up access to 900 years of British history.

You will be working within a multi-disciplinary product team, which includes developers, user researchers, designers, a technical architect, and a product owner. You will be experienced at embedding agile ways of working and ensuring iterative delivery of high-quality products at pace, managing resources and contributing to planning and product assessment activities. You will be skilled in empowering this team to deliver, with the communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills to influence and motivate team members and give and receive constructive feedback.

About you:

An experienced agile practitioner with a track record of operational delivery, you will be adept at structuring complex digital projects and breaking down barriers for your team. You’ll be a problem solver, able to see and communicate the wider impact of your work, while also being able to get into the detail. You’ll be comfortable working in a continuous learning environment, dealing with ambiguity and change, and balancing multiple priorities. Skilled at building trust, managing team dynamics, and motivating people, ideally with strong coaching and diplomacy skills, allowing you to build effective relationships and achieve buy-in collaboratively. Most importantly, you’ll come with a desire to innovate, a focus on user needs, and the will to drive forward improvements to our service.
