Singh & Jones are working with a well-known Facade Contractor based across the UK. Due to high demand and large project wins, my client is keen to step up their hunt for an experienced Design Manager to be based at their HQ in London. The client is eager to hear from Design Managers who have a strong cladding, louvre, and through-wall background in facades.
The Design Manager role will report into the Design Director, and the responsibilities will include: Providing design solutions and materials to a wide range of projects across the UK. Leading and mentoring the regional design team. Working closely with the senior management team to deliver on project KPIs. Requesting specific design information to draw GA Designs. Leading own project work and delivering in a timely manner. Recording and documenting the flow of each design process. Dealing with any design variations accordingly. Assisting fellow teams in the delivery of projects. Attending pre-design and site setup meetings. Understanding and experience of various facade systems. Mentoring and managing a team of internal and external designers. Actively involved in self-development by attending facade-related courses. The ideal candidates will come from a facade design background and have a sound knowledge of curtain wall, stick system, punch hole, and unitised systems. Relevant qualifications in Architectural Technology and an MSc in Facades are desirable. The Design Manager must be able to convey core skills in leadership and project design management.
