Salary $106,672 - $123,119 NZD per annum (depending on experience)
The Role
You will be based in a large secondary level, 400 bed accredited public hospital providing acute and elective care for a region of over 162,000 people. It is one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand. The hospital is modern with a full range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services. In addition, outreach services are provided at rural and community-based facilities across the region in Wairoa and Waipukurau.
The Emergency Department sees 46,000 attendances a year, with a 30% admission rate. The general patient acuity is high, with a significant amount of major trauma. The Intensive Care Unit serves both Intensive Care and High Dependency patients. There are 8 Intensive Care Consultants, a Clinical Nurse Manager, 5 Associate Clinical Nurse Managers, a Clinical Nurse Educator, 51 Registered Nurses and 12 Intensive Care Registrars. Both adult and paediatric patients are admitted to the unit and there is an inter-hospital transport service within Hawke’s Bay and to tertiary referral centres.
