Make a difference with St John Ambulance and become a lifesaver in your community. Gain new skills, support others, and be the hero your community needs! At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference. Through volunteering as an Emergency Responder, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering essential first aid and lifesaving clinical care at community and major events in your areas, including at sporting events, concerts, and community festivals. We will ensure you have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles is included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter. You will be supporting some of our most clinically diverse evening events from the Norwich Nighttime Economy to gigs at the University of East Anglia. Our Emergency Responders also have the opportunity to deliver excellence in First Aid care at some of our largest events (often at weekends) across Norwich and the county of Norfolk. Norwich Network meetings take place every 2 weeks (online and face to face; alternately) with the expectation to attend at least 1 in 3 meetings. These meetings communicate the work of the network, event and fundraising opportunities, and essential ongoing continuous professional development. If you are successful, you will need to undertake induction & training for the role on the following dates: You need to be available to attend your essential training course: 8th, 9th, 22nd, 23rd February 2025. Closing date for these opportunities is: 24th November 2024 If you’d like to know more about volunteering or would just like to chat to someone who does, get in touch.
