The brand Dr.PAWPAW is a fast-growing beauty business distributed globally in the best retailers worldwide with an expanding portfolio of products including balms, hand creams, haircare and gift sets. All tubes are 100% recyclable, and Dr.PAWPAW ensures all ingredients are ethically and sustainably sourced, cruelty-free and all products are PETA approved. This brand prioritises integrity and believes in sharing its success to bring goodness to the world by supporting UK national and international charities. The business has just hit a 6 million pound turnover which was a 40% increase last year, and another 40% increase is predicted for 22/23. The company is looking for a finance director to help it with its strategic growth. The role Reporting to the Founders, ultimately taking on the full responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Responsible for closing month end/year end, producing management accounts, maintaining purchase and sales ledger, credit control, weekly cash planning, P& L/Balance Sheet/Cash Flow forecast, financial planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, and any other ad-hoc duties that are required in the finance department. Key Responsibilities: Complete month-end and produce Management accounts and issue to the board/founders with commentary monthly. Managing accounting systems and all process/system changes. Support Founders and company secretary in budgeting, forecasting and cash planning. Manage year-end accounts and annual audit, liaising with appointed auditors. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately processed in a timely manner. Complete and submit VAT returns and other ad hoc tasks. Bank Reconciliations and weekly cash planning. Manage all banking facilities and relationships. Liaise with budget owners at the end of each period and support cost control. Create and issue business reports including product and channel profitability analysis. Assist on projects on an ad-hoc basis e.g. NPD and Cost saving projects. Work closely with merchandising team and BDM’s to maintain accurate and up-to-date stock management and sales projections. HR responsibilities including payroll and onboarding. Key Technical Skills/Knowledge/Professional Qualifications Required: You must hold a professional accounting qualification (e.g CIMA, ACCA, ACA). Detailed knowledge of Excel, and general computer literacy. Be used to operating in a business with restricted working capital, where cashflow is paramount to business risks and all decision-making. Previous experience in the beauty industry preferred. Knowledge and experience of Accounting systems including implementations. Knowledge and experience of Banking facilities-Desirable. Key Personal Skills Required: Be pro-active and have a can-do attitude to take charge of the entire Finance aspect of the business. Attention to detail and being able to process efficiently. Accuracy in your work is key! Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to handle confidential information. Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills. Project management skills which include the ability to set objectives, manage key stakeholders, meet deadlines and present conclusions.
