Hellenic Systems is looking for a Development Manager either hybrid working or based at the South Woodham Ferrers office. The Development Manager is responsible for managing our software developers to create high-quality products for the company to sell. They will report to the Business Unit Leader. It will be the Development Manager’s role to ensure that the software team is producing the required software as well as putting together a future road map for Hellenic to work towards and achieve. Flexibility will be required to work additional and varied hours when needed, and to stay away from home on occasion, with prior notice provided. Job Responsibilities

Making sure that Hellenic is using up-to-date tools and versions where possible. Concentrating on legacy software and pinch points within our teams. Responsible for reviewing, adapting and introducing modern R&D best practices and processes. Develop and keep track of a software road map for Hellenic to work towards that has been approved by the Senior Management Team. Present new software products that could be developed and sold by the company. Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills. Provide reporting on the software department, projects and velocity of capacity and productivity to help the department and business grow. Team Responsibilities

Distribute workload for each software developer through the JIRA system (potential to move to another platform). Work with each developer to ensure they have the skills required to complete their tasks. Participate in regular team meetings, stand-ups and 1-2-1s. Perform any other duties related to managing the software team on a day-to-day basis e.g. approving annual performance reviews, etc. Client Responsibilities

Keep track of developer deadlines for given projects where a due date has been communicated to the client. Where needed, join the sales team on sales calls with large clients to provide technical detail around the software packages being sold. Join weekly, monthly or quarterly catch-up calls with major clients to provide due dates and updates on ongoing projects and orders. Job Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Good understanding of technology used within Hellenic. Degree in Computer Science. Evidence of organizing team members' workloads and schedules. Personal Characteristics
