Our client is a leading technical organisation looking for someone who can understand Defence needs and work to create solutions within software/digital/data/cloud. They are seeking a candidate who can work with Defence clients to implement technical solutions in Defence contexts, particularly understanding the restrictions of cloud and emerging technologies on secure MOD platforms. The ideal candidate will understand software and how it integrates with other components of a solution. This is a hybrid role with at least 3 days on site. If based in Surrey/Gloucester, it's likely you will need to travel to Hampshire once a week. Key Responsibilities

Architect digital/data/cloud solutions to solve client problems. Responsible for the architecture and high-level design of software-enabled solutions and will work in a pre-sales capacity to develop relationships and solutions that support future business growth. Be pivotal to capability development through direct capability development. Involvement with business development activities. Support the development of customer offerings to address market drivers and identify opportunities to develop/exploit their own IP in software-enabled defence. Understand and document the customer's requirements for distribution to the engineering team. Deploy solutions to customer environments based on military tactical equipment and communications with no internet connectivity. Skills & Experience

Strong experience in architecting distributed software solutions that include middleware technologies to move and manage information around a network where communications may be denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited. Understanding of the Deployed and Tactical Military Domains is desirable; however, you will not be expected to be an expert. Understanding of relevant technology domains including software applications, application hosting infrastructure, middleware, AI/ML, networks, data, security, system management, and communications. Ability to apply architectural methods to define and assess effective technology solutions to meet critical user needs. Ability to build constructive relationships with clients, including adapting to their culture and ways of working. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarise, write, and deliver concise technical information and apply appropriate data visualisation techniques. Proven track record in software solution development, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers. Demonstrable experience of defining robust engineering management plans and leading teams to follow them, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test-driven development. Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies such as SAFE v6.0, Scrum, and Kanban. Additional Benefits
