THE SEARCH: Altus Partners are partnering with a fast-growing £70m revenue Private Equity backed international retail business, who are looking to appoint a Commercial Financial Controller due to ongoing growth and expansion. This position reports directly into the CFO of the business and will be a key Business Partner to the wider organisation. You will be empowered to make the role your own, whilst receiving mentorship and development from a highly experienced and engaged CFO. The position is based in Guildford, where the successfully appointed Candidate will need to be on-site 3-4 days per week. THE ROLE: The Commercial Financial Controller will be a versatile finance professional with a broad skill set across both Controllership and FP&A, with the ability to effectively lead and develop a small team (2 team members), within a growing finance function. You will be the Number Two in Finance, deputising for the CFO at times and have extensive engagement and exposure to the CEO. Key responsibilities: Reporting directly into the CFO, you will have ownership of the company’s internal budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis processes. Lead and develop a team of 2 Assistant Accountants. Cash Flow Management and reporting. Ongoing development of internal Power BI and MI processes, ensuring business leaders are provided with key insights and reports to effectively assess business performance and support strategic decision making. Development of internal KPI reporting and analysis processes. Providing key strategic commentary and insights for the monthly Board Pack. Ongoing financial modelling and analysis to support business planning. Business Partnering with other key stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing and Procurement. Reviewing month-end accounts, ensuring the team are meeting and adhering to key deadlines and processes. Oversee the year-end audit process. Ad hoc projects based on business priorities, including the ongoing quality of finance reporting, PnL's and utilisation of data. Deputising for the CFO when required. THE REQUIREMENTS: Qualified Accountant. Proven experience of Budgeting, Forecasting, Business Partnering and Year End Accounting. Exposure to Power BI and development of internal reporting processes. Prior Supervisory experience. Hybrid/Flexible working is available, with a requirement to be on-site in Guildford 3-4 days per week.
