This is an interesting and highly technical role with a strong focus on tax compliance, statutory accounting, reporting, GDPR, management of AP and AR controls, and the delivery of high-quality financial insight. The successful candidate will be a recognised face and liaise closely with colleagues in multiple areas of the business, supporting other members of the finance team. Key responsibilities include: Preparation of statutory accounts and timely reporting Quarterly/annual corporation tax reporting and compliance VAT preparation, reporting and compliance Play a key role in overseeing customs duty compliance GDPR compliance Implementation and development of future-proof internal controls Manage a team of two direct reports Assist in all aspects of internal and external audits For this role, we seek an experienced candidate, ideally with comprehensive knowledge of statutory accounting principles, indirect company taxation, UK and international finance reporting standards, and complex financial analysis. Applicants are likely to be working towards or have recently gained a professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), though candidates with relevant vocational experience will be given equal consideration. The successful candidate should possess excellent MS Excel skills and a strong aptitude for grasping modern accounting ERPs (the company currently utilises MS Dynamics AX). While strong technical accounting skills are obviously a given, our client has made strong emphasis on the importance of personable and team-working qualities.
