Graduate Home Technical Pricing Analyst

offices. Building on First Central’s success in UK Motor Insurance, we are now launching a Home Insurance product. This is where you come in! We’re looking to recruit a bright and innovative graduate to help price this product. Our aspiration is to grow a market leading product in both scale and quality. This is an opportunity to be involved with a product from its very infancy helping to develop and implement advanced pricing models. You'll become part of a growing, dynamic team with highly experienced pricing managers to support you as you develop your analytical skills, learn pricing techniques, software and coding languages, and use your fantastic problem solving skills to manage risks and improve our pricing. When you join us, you’ll embark on a structured 3 year Graduate ‘career roadmap’. As part of this, you’ll be given the opportunity to complete an MSc in Data Analytics via a degree apprenticeship programme (subject to eligibility). Core skills we’re looking for to succeed in the role: Degree (minimum 2:1) or equivalent in a numerate field Experience of coding Nice to have skills, but optional: Experience of statistical modelling What’s Involved Learn all relevant tools and techniques Development of pricing models Identifying and assessing new data sources Implementation of new pricing models Monitor, maintain and improve pricing models Development of underwriting rules Engaging with other stakeholders in the project team Always ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations (including TCF) Presenting work to wider stakeholders Skills & Knowledge Strong mathematical skills – with a minimum 2:1 degree in a numerate subject. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems Excellent data and statistical analysis skills Strong IT skills with programming skills (e.g., R, C++, MATLAB, or Python).
