The undertaking of analysis and design of bridge and retaining wall structures in reinforced concrete and steel. To provide technical analysis expertise and experience-based leadership within a small design team. Working as part of a team and reporting to the team leader, the successful candidate will be key in developing junior staff whilst maintaining high standards in their own work. The role contributes to the delivery of the structures programme of work. The successful candidate will work within or across a team delivering structure refurbishment, assessment, and replacement schemes. This will require use of initiative, detailed knowledge of structural design codes, of the DMRB, MCHW, and of CDM regulation and processes. The Role

To prepare, design, plan, programme highway structures works and services. To provide clear and effective project leadership. To assist in the management and monitoring of works programmes or services. To mentor junior staff in the delivery of structural design and development of highway structures schemes. To check other team members' work. To provide assistance to the team leader in relation to all aspects covered within the group and deputise in their absence. To assist in budgetary control and ensure that financial management is undertaken throughout areas of responsibility. To prepare monthly progress reports and programme updates. Minimum Requirements

- Candidates will be Chartered or working towards Chartership with the ICE or MIStructE, they will be self-motivated individuals with good communication skills and a background in highway bridge engineering. - Candidates will come with an educational base, Civil Engineering Degree/Masters or equivalent high-level qualification. - The candidate shall have recent experience of undertaking structure analysis and calculations in RC and in leading and mentoring junior engineers in the delivery of highway structures projects.
