The Client
Our client is one of the leading Approved Inspectors offering building control services tailored to client requirements. They provide solutions from the design phase to completion.
The Role
Lead the Building Control Division with coverage across Yorkshire, North East, and North West.
Oversee major commercial and domestic projects, managing a team of RBIs and administrators.
Ensure compliance with up-to-date policies and procedures.
Build relationships with clients through proactive building regulations plan checks and site inspections.
Deliver a comprehensive customer-focused Building Control Service, adhering to BSR guidelines.
Support the learning and development of direct reports through coaching and mentoring.
Collaborate with the CPO for recruitment and retention of motivated and trained staff.
Work closely with the COO to ensure team delivery against company objectives.
Conduct internal audits for compliance with BSR standards.
Ensure up-to-date OSRs are in place and adhered to.
Identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and improve processes.
The Person
Fully qualified (Classification 3G/3H and Technical 4) building control surveyor with senior or principal level experience.
Possession of a recognised professional qualification (RICS, CABE).
Experience in a senior role within a Building Control office.
Thorough knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation.
Understanding of IT systems.
Expertise in Structural engineering, Fire Safety, Access, and Building Services.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior staff.
Competence in investigating relevant issues and producing briefings on complex topics.
Ability to conduct site inspections adhering to health and safety policies.
Previous experience with implementing OSRs.
Up-to-date knowledge of BSR standards and requirements.
Full UK driving licence.
