Job Purpose and Summary

The IT Security Architect is a core member of the Canon EMEA Information Security Department, responsible for the strategic Security Roadmap, defining and implementing the target enterprise security architecture, and providing guidance to project teams to ensure compliance with the Canon EMEA security policies and security architecture.

This role can be filled in either our Amstelveen, Netherlands headquarters or our Stockley Park, United Kingdom headquarters.

As a Security Architect, you will: Own, define and maintain the Security Roadmap for a 5-year horizon, in alignment with business and IT priorities. Lead and support the creation of the security architecture direction and the vision statement for new initiatives. Actively support and consult projects as a member of the Project Design Authority. Direct, review and approve high-level designs produced by the Project Design Office. Work closely with business stakeholders (e.g., business sponsors, business process group) and develop an intimate understanding of the business value chain and business processes. Ensure business and IT stakeholder sign-off for security initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve business and IT processes. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices and threat landscape.

What we ask

As a Security Architect, you will need: At least 8 years of experience within Information Security, with at least 4 years in an (Enterprise) Security Architecture role. Professional experience with all aspects of an IT project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production. Deep understanding of the security domain specific technologies and systems. Broad understanding of neighboring domains and the overall technical landscape. Awareness of relevant technologies in the wider industry, and their strengths and weaknesses. Able to engage with delivery and operational personnel on complex technical issues. Expertise in Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF and/or SABSA), standard technologies (e.g., SOA) and modeling environments (e.g., UML). Strong communication and presentation skills in English. Ability to persuade and influence key stakeholders, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-IT experts. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, and able to evaluate the costs, benefits and other measurable features of potential options.
