Principal Bridge Engineer
I am working with a very well established, specialist consultancy who are looking for somebody to join their team in York. The local team are relatively new, but part of a wider team across a few locations in the UK. Work is predominantly rail led and bridges focused, but may occasionally include highway structures and other rail structures.
Responsibilities
Work independently and demonstrate ability to lead teams in the preparation of design of bridges and other civil engineering structures. Good project/task management skills. Deliver multiple small projects and or tasks within budget and to program. Liaise with clients, review and agree scope for elements of work and prepare proposals. Get involved in work winning. Key Requirements
MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Must have extensive experience in bridge design. Chartered member of ICE or MIStructE. Experience of other structures is very beneficial - including: stations, culverts and platforms. Prior experience of managing and mentoring a team before. Ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way. Well organised and strong interpersonal skills. Ideally be familiar with Network Rail Standards. Benefits/Pay
£48,000 - £60,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Tax-free bonus scheme. Hybrid working. Candidates at a Senior Engineer grade will also be considered for the position too.
