About the Role:
Our chilled foods site at Rogerstone is the biggest in our Meal Solutions division, employing around 1600 people, and produces a huge range of ready meals for major retail customers. It is a fast-paced, complex site and we are looking for a Head of Technical to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a crucial role in driving performance and delivering change. This is a great time to join a leading business going through a period of change and, reporting to the Site Director, your key responsibilities will include: Leading and developing a team of 5 direct reports, with an overall functional headcount of around 130 people (including Hygiene). Developing and implementing site technical strategy, ensuring high standards are constantly maintained and compliance with all legislative standards and retail codes of practice. Maintaining strong relationships with key retailers, regularly engaging with key stakeholders regarding food safety, quality, and innovation to ensure we always meet their requirements. Providing strong leadership, ensuring your team are engaged and motivated, ensuring the right structures are in place and people have opportunities to develop and progress. About You:
This role is crucial to the ongoing success of the site, and we’re keen to hear from anybody with the following skills and experience: Considerable experience of working in a technical leadership role in a chilled/high-care food manufacturing environment, preferably ready meals. Strong retail customer experience, with demonstrable knowledge of codes of practice and BRC. Proven leadership skills, able to coach, develop and inspire teams to guide them through periods of change. Proactive in approach, constantly looking for new and improved ways of working and promoting a culture of technical excellence. Resilient and adaptable, able to work with a high level of autonomy and make business critical decisions.
