Who are Net-Zero Geosystems?

Net-Zero Geosystems (NZG) is a start-up focused on the development of geoscientific simulation tools and services for CO 2

storage, geothermal energy, radioactive waste disposal, subsurface energy storage (H 2 ) and the permanent abandonment of oil & gas wells.

The main focus of our work is to provide robust evidence-based tools to lower the operational risks of subsurface projects.

We are driven to deliver rigorous high-quality outputs for our clients. We value transparency, honesty and compassion.

Our technology

Our principal technology predicts the probability of subsurface well integrity loss and leakages. Ensuring a sustained long-term containment of greenhouse gases and harmful fluids is crucial for all energy geosystems. Reliable well integrity prediction methods are key for gaining confidence in subsurface projects, obtaining regulatory & financial approval, and facilitating the implementation of economically viable measures for risk prevention and mitigation.

Specifically, our technology will dramatically improve the longevity of wells and their resilience, reduce risk, reduce environmental impact, drive costs down, enable well re-purposing and ensure permanent containment (of CO 2 , radioactive materials, methane).

The role

You will be driving Net-Zero Geosystems’ commercial growth and success. By working closely with the CEO, you will create and implement a sales strategy to promote the adoption of NZG’s software in the global subsurface energy sector.

Your initial focus will be to develop a clear go-to-market strategy. Building on our market research, you will link our offering and technical capability with market needs to develop bespoke solutions and strong commercial relationships.

Your work will include the development of sales and marketing materials to ensure that we are always representing Net-Zero Geosystems clearly and accurately.

The role will require you to create effective short-, medium- and long-term strategies to secure and maintain major commercial contracts, which will involve building and managing relationships with stakeholders, gathering their feedback and relaying it back to the rest of the team to ensure continued growth and learning in the business.

You will have a lot of autonomy over your work. As we are a growing company, the role is likely to develop and include new responsibilities. We are therefore looking for an individual who is ambitious, confident and happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

Key aspects of the role include:

Refining our understanding of market needs and the value proposition for our services.

Researching potential customers and building a database of target contacts.

Contacting potential customers and setting up sales meetings.

Maintaining a CRM database of customer interactions, feedback and next steps.

Identifying sales opportunities, e.g. conferences, showcases etc, and organising stands and speaking opportunities for the CEO or yourself.

Managing sales forecasts and plans to meet agreed targets.

Developing and maintaining sales and marketing materials such as our website, LinkedIn content, press features, brochures, posters for events and blog posts.

Managing relationships with new customers.

Identifying and applying to public and private funding opportunities.

What key skills & experience are we looking for?

We are looking for someone driven, who enjoys variety and is comfortable working autonomously. A former experience in the oil & gas industry or wider subsurface industry, a relevant professional network and a technical awareness of geosciences and wells will be very valuable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, will be curious to learn with a spirit of entrepreneurship and capacity to deal with the unexpected.

In particular, we are looking for:

6 years+ industry experience in the oil & gas industry or wider subsurface sector.

4 years+ experience in a commercially focused role with a demonstrable track record of success.

An established network within the oil & gas industry or wider subsurface sector.

A scientific background with a preference for petroleum engineering or geosciences.

An engaging communicator with strong networking skills to drive commercial conversations and convert them into sales.

An ability to illustrate and explain the benefits of our products and services to potential customers, simply but accurately explaining complex details.

Proven experience communicating with and selling to senior stakeholders.

A commitment to contributing to the energy transition and to protecting the environment.

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

This is a remote position for an individual based in the UK at a commutable distance from either London or Aberdeen.

We strongly encourage women and individuals from minority backgrounds and underrepresented communities to apply for this job opportunity.

If you do not have the specific qualifications listed above, but you can demonstrate a skillset (obtained through other means or on-the-job training) which enables you to meet the requirements of the role, we want to hear from you.
