This is a brilliant opportunity to join our client’s Capital and Commercial Services team as a Principal Engineer in the Wastewater Team. They are investing a huge amount into waste treatment over the next five years, making a big difference to the environment and surrounding communities. About the role:

To stand as the technical authority and lead on all technical aspects of optioneering and design for a variety of waste treatment projects, driving innovative, efficient, environmentally friendly, safe to build and operate with least whole life cost solutions. To provide technical support to the Waste Treatment Core Design Team and play a key role in developing the technical capability of team members through coaching, mentoring and supporting the Design Managers and Business Leads to identify development opportunities for individual designers. To supervise the creation of designs and specifications for wastewater treatment projects which include consideration of health & safety, environment, buildability, customer impact, third party constraints/permissions/approvals, commissioning, operation and maintenance, appropriate legislation and regulations. Identify and review deviations from our client’s standards and support the Project Management Team in taking these deviations to the relevant standards owners or Standards Approval Board for approval. Ensure our client’s H&S standards are adhered to in relation to the design, in particular standards relating to functional safety, HazOp, HazCon, DSEAR and the CDM Regs. Communicate lessons learned from the project to the wider business and develop younger and less experienced engineers working on the programme of work, driving innovation and developing new approaches and solutions. Establish a network of internal and external stakeholders across your discipline to capture learnings, understand innovation and best practice, and build into the plans for Capital Design technical standards. About you:

UK experience with the design of clean and wastewater projects. Civil Degree qualified (or equivalent) Engineer. Ideally be chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE. A passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire, and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions. Benefits package:
