BYD are expanding its UK operations to support a growing portfolio of electric bus projects. Main Tasks and responsibilities: Ensure that UK market technical requirements are clearly defined and relevant documents are kept up-to-date and circulated to relevant staff across BYD’s global R&D organisation; Review project timelines and check alignment with market expectations; Coordinating with R&D on complex technical queries; In cases where UK-based testing is required, assist in the planning and execution of such tests; Coordinate with UK partners, legislation compliance agencies and BYD’s China-based homologation team to ensure type approvals are in place for UK products; Manage and maintain new and existing CMS installations; Other related activities and contingent assignments; The role reports to the Technical Manager. Candidate profile: Minimum Bachelor Degree, technical background is required At least 5 years’ experience in a vehicle engineering environment Proven track record in the transport or automotive industry will be advantageous Good command of English is essential, both written and verbal Able to speak, read and write in Chinese (Mandarin) Excellent time management and organisational skills, ability to work under pressure Good team player, able to work in remote teams Proactive and able to anticipate demand Computer knowledge and proficiency, including MS Office and MS Project Able to travel to UK production facilities and occasionally to EU countries and China.
