Are you an experienced leader with a passion for engineering excellence? We are seeking a dynamic and strategic

Head of Field Engineering

to lead our dedicated team of professionals. In this senior leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the success of our field engineering department, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement the strategic vision for the field engineering department, aligning with our company’s overall goals. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of field engineers, fostering professional growth and high performance.

Project Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of field engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements. Implement standardised processes for consistent project delivery.

Client Interaction:

Serve as the primary technical contact for key clients, leading technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposal development. Ensure customer needs are met and expectations exceeded.

Resource Management:

Efficiently allocate and manage resources across multiple projects. Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring your team is equipped with the tools and technology needed for success.

What we’re looking for:

Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

Strong project management expertise, with experience in using project management tools and methodologies.

In-depth technical knowledge in networking, site security, and end-user computing.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and senior management.

Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities, ready to innovate and drive continuous improvement.

About you

Expertise;

Networking:

Expertise in TCP/IP, IP addressing, VLANs

Network extensions and troubleshooting

Installation and commissioning of Cat 6 and fiber LAN

Routers, switches, and WiFi installation (indoor/outdoor)

Comms Rooms:

Design, plan, and install comms rooms and cabinets (e.g., 42u racks, patch panels, cable management, UPS)

Setup of servers, PCs, Pi’s, and storage

End User Computing:

Installation and support for end-user devices, including PCs, thermal printers, tablets, ID scanners, private ATMs, weighbridge indicators, and intercom units

Site Security & Access:

Installation and support for IP cameras (security and operational monitoring, temperature monitoring)

Door access, gate automation, alarms, smoke/fire detection, and suppression systems

Familiarity with analytics (motion detection, ANPR, zone marking, temperature detection)

Background ;

Proven track record in field engineering or similar related role.

A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or related field).
