We’ve been on an exciting journey over the past three years, designing and developing patented fit-tech that is set to seriously change the planet (while making it a healthier place, too!). Our technology captures and converts the energy from exercise into clean, sustainable, electrical power. Having received accelerated support from Gymshark, we’ve now launched our first product, The RE:GEN, across both the “at-home” and commercial markets. And now, we’re turning our attention to the 3 P’s… more people, more products, more POWER! And that’s where you come in… With a hyper-growth strategy over the next few months, this is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and versatile Electronics Engineer to join our award-winning team, where you’ll lead on all things electronics systems for our existing and future products, joining us on our mission to become the world’s most sustainable fitness brand alive. Job Description

When you first join us as Principal Power Electronics Engineer, you’ll spend time learning about how our first product, The RE:GEN works, understanding the electrical brands behind “The Most Innovative Fitness Bike”. You’ll then apply this knowledge, and the wider experience you’ve gained throughout your career, to our existing projects and installations, as well as all things NPD and Energym’s future product portfolio. Overview: As a Principal Electronics Engineer, you will work closely with the senior technical team, to lead the charge in designing, testing, and implementing the cutting-edge analogue electrical systems and solutions for our range of products. Your role spans from hands-on technical work to strategic oversight of electrical engineering projects, ensuring innovation, efficiency, and compliance in all we do. Whether refining existing products or crafting the blueprints for tomorrow's innovations, your expertise will be pivotal in driving our technological frontier forward. Key Responsibilities: Working with our technical managers to spearhead the development and optimisation of electrical systems, including analogue electronics, PCB design, and power management for both existing products and new concepts. Conduct rigorous diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting to enhance product performance, alongside devising practical solutions for electrical challenges. Complete electrical FMEA reviews, ensuring adherence to standards and certifications such as EMC, EMI, and CE. Oversee the entire lifecycle of electrical engineering projects, from initial R&D to successful commercialisation, across both domestic and international landscapes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly, ensuring all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements are met. Innovate and improve electrical testing procedures, documenting results and leveraging data to drive technological advancements. Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence within the team. Report to Technical Manager. Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field, with a strong preference for advanced qualifications. Proven track record in electrical engineering, demonstrating expertise in PCB design, power electronics, and EMC testing. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical control systems, AC/DC power management, and renewable energy generation technologies. Experience in microinverter design, Li-ion battery charging systems, and electrical system software simulation. Proficiency in embedded programming, hardware design specifications, and product certification processes. Personal Attributes: Solution-focused with a structured approach to problem-solving. Highly analytical with excellent debugging skills. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. Innovative, forward-thinking, and keen to drive technological advancements. Ambitious, with a proven ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines. Performance Metrics: Adherence to technical standards and certifications. Positive impact on product quality and innovation. Timeliness and budget compliance of project delivery. Contribution to team goals and personal development targets. Additional Information

What you'll get in return: We've a shiny, new, custom HQ in Shirley, Solihull where our Head of Happiness is often on site (Energym's pup, "Missy"!). We're a great, friendly team (there's no room for politics here!) with an awesome culture (yes everyone says this, but we really do!). Free on-site parking. Early finishes on Friday. Join us to lead the way in power electronics engineering, where your expertise will not only shape the future of our products but also pave the way for sustainable technological solutions worldwide.
