Established in 1892, G F Tomlinson is a family-run construction firm that has grown to become one of the Midlands most respected and recognised brands within the Industry sector. We are looking for an Estimator/Senior Estimator to join our pre-construction team based at our G F Tomlinson Building Limited’s Pre-Construction offices in Little Eaton, Derby. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. Duties of the role: Take personal responsibility for completely pricing a tender/negotiated opportunity in sufficient time to meet the known internal and external deadlines and to enable a successful outcome. Review all preliminary documentation, including drawings, specifications, preambles and preliminary details to understand the scope and complexity of the proposed project. Ensure that all cost implications are highlighted and incorporated into the tender price. Provide cost plans and budgets for Clients where requested. Take overall ownership of bid and carry out ‘Bid Management Duties’, including liaising and co-ordinating with the Marketing Department over the submission document. Key Skills & Experience Required: Previous experience as an Estimator/Senior Estimator with a similar sized Main contractor. Ability to communicate with people at all levels and to work as part of a vibrant pre-construction team. Have previous experience of working on Conquest.
