Scarborough based Unison Ltd is a highly successful manufacturer of CNC tube bending machines, supplying high end products to a world market, in sectors including Aerospace, Automotive and Marine.

We are seeking a software developer to join our expanding team. You will perform product development and maintenance on a range of applications and control systems relating to our range of all-electric tube bending machines and ancillary equipment.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of producing professional, efficient, stable, and scalable code for use in industrial applications. Experience of PLC and motion control products will be of advantage.

The position is based at our manufacturing facility in Scarborough but travel throughout the UK and world will be required as necessary. This is a full-time salary-based role. Hours of work are a 39 hour week 7.45am – 4:45pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7.45am – 1pm.

The role

Work with the software team to deliver a range of applications to support our world class product range.

Develop and maintain software solutions in C#, C++, VB.net.

Work with test engineers to ensure robust test regimes.

Provide fault finding assistance to product support teams.

Mentor junior team members.

Maintain robust source code revisioning.

Create accurate technical documentation for operators and maintenance personnel.

Release, install and commissioning of software and controls systems at base and occasionally offsite both in UK and overseas.

Requirements

A strong academic background including software engineering or similar field.

An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio.

Experience with source code revision tools.

A strong command of written and spoken English to create documentation and assist on support calls.

Advantages

Experience in software development and machinery control systems.

Knowledge of PLCs, servo drives, industrial robots, HMIs, etc. is desirable but not essential.

An awareness of mechanical and electrical systems.
