WSP is looking for an experienced Data Consultant to join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We provide technical professional services to transport clients throughout the UK and overseas to deliver tangible value through technology-enabled change. Join our Intelligent Infrastructure discipline and make a real-world difference, working on crucial projects for public sector clients such as supporting West of England Combined Authority as Technical Assurance Partners. We develop cloud data solutions and manage end-to-end solution implementation for National Highways and TfWRL. As a Technical Consultant, you will lead tasks as part of a team on projects to provide client-facing advisory and assurance services. In addition to challenging and stimulating projects, you will be able to access a range of benefits, including targeted professional development and training to help you grow and develop at WSP. YOUR TEAM This role sits within the II System and Infrastructure business and will form a key part of the growing Data and Architecture Capability, which is our centre of excellence for digital skills. Our II S&I team is growing rapidly to deliver exciting projects in areas such as connected and autonomous vehicles, next-generation traffic control systems, 5G, and digital twins. We are developing our technology capabilities to meet these demands and have a number of opportunities for technology specialists to join our Digital and Data consultancy capability. The Capability team provides a community of colleagues working in and around technology to help you deliver effectively and support your professional development through training, mentoring, and opportunities to really stretch your capabilities. YOUR ROLE Collaborating with clients, partners, and supply chains to solve complex business and technical problems. Leading small teams to implement data engineering, analytics, and reporting solutions. Conducting exploratory data analysis and developing data science models to uncover insights. Supporting the development of data strategy, roadmaps for data initiatives, and solution design for our clients. Acting as a technical authority and providing assurance services. Contributing to proposals and helping to plan and deliver work within a project or programme environment. Acting as a Data champion within our team and in our global networks, providing mentorship, support, and guidance across projects and bids. WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE: Undergraduate or higher Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience and qualifications. Essentials - you will need skills and experience in these areas to be successful in the role:

Successfully leading a small team to deliver technical tasks. Conducting discovery activities and working with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs. Delivery of data reporting solutions using Power BI/other BI tools. Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems. Understanding of ETL processes and some experience of designing/implementing data pipelines to collect, clean, and integrate data from various sources using cloud platforms such as Azure. Experience of DevOps practices to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Experience of utilizing a variety of data tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, R, etc. Exposure to best practices in data management, including data quality and metadata management. Development of data documentation for data processes and solutions. Client-facing experience and excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face.
