You will be working for a growing Top 50 accountancy and tax advisory practice in Winchester with specialist expertise in the farming and agricultural sector, landed estates, and private client spaces providing expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals.
Your key responsibilities as a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager will include:
Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs and in-house deadlines.
Preparing and processing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
Calculating and advising on liabilities, together with due dates of payment to clients.
Assisting with client queries and providing ad hoc advice where requested with the support of senior members of staff.
Dealing with correspondence, telephone calls, and arranging and attending meetings with clients and potential clients.
Assisting partners and senior staff members with technical queries.
Providing assistance to junior members of the team where appropriate.
Dealing with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls, and enquiries.
It is likely that you will have a minimum of 3 years UK tax experience, from either a medium-sized or mid-tier firm, along with being ATT/CTA/ACA qualified (study support can be provided to progress to CTA if desired). Significant experience within a private client tax team is required, and previous experience with agricultural and rural businesses would be preferred but not essential. You will need to be a self-starter with a high level of resilience and attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be well-organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
