Financial Controller

The company is looking for a Financial Controller with a mixture of financial management and commercial experience to join their team on a permanent basis. A Logistics and Transport company based near Milton Keynes is about to go through a growth phase, making this a great time to join. There is possible long-term scope for this position to progress into a Finance Director role in the future.
Responsibilities:
Provide analysis and commentary to support strategic commercial decision making.
Handle scenario analysis to support tender submissions.
Responsible for all month-end submissions.
Maintain general ledger accounts, including the determination of journal entry requirements and preparation and posting of journal entries.
Conduct preliminary review of financial reports prior to final close of general ledger.
Conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations and other financial controls in compliance with company policy.
Perform analysis of financial results as part of the financial and operational review process.
Continually look to reduce company costs and spending associated with related responsibilities.
Consciously deal with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption.
Experience and Attributes Required:
Professional qualification in accountancy or finance (such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA) -
Essential
3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a large, multi-component company -
Essential
Experience of working in a logistics or supply chain industry -
Desirable
Excellent financial modelling capabilities -
Essential
Strong ability to liaise with senior stakeholders -
Essential
Remuneration:
£65,000 - £70,000 + excellent bonus
