We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to work for our client who are located in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

THE DUTIES OF A H&S MANAGER:

To assume head departmental total responsibility for all Health and Safety functions on site. Manage the business operations and compliance to ensure all company operations are within the boundaries of the law as set out by the UK Health & Safety Executive. Manage all aspects of operations to ensure all activities are risk managed and supported by HSE recognised documentation. To ensure any Accidents/Near misses are recorded and investigated thoroughly and within the associated timeframe resulting in corrective actions being in place with the manufacturing team. To manage and deliver regular pro-active in-house training on all employee safety and health aspects. To ensure company are H&S compliant across all Procurement platforms with the appropriate updating of client portals with associated qualifications and permits. Review and update Risk assessments and Method statements to underpin the training matrices for all employees to ensure all employees have received adequate training to perform tasks and run machines with supporting signed R.A.M.S. documentation. To adapt and to take on board any future requests or tasks as reasonably requested from time to time.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS: IOSH or Nebosh qualifications Background in metallurgical and laboratory functions to ensure plate manufacturing is controlled within the business from a quality perspective. FLT driving license Computer skills for Microsoft & ERP software experience

THE HOURS/BENEFITS: Hours: Mon -Thurs 8.30am -5.00pm & Friday 8.30am -3.30pm. Matched Company pension contribution up to 3% 20 Days holidays + statutory days with additional 5 days in service Free Death in service cover

THE PAY: You will earn £40,000/annum dependent on experience.
