Being skilled in working with families experiencing domestic violence with the willingness to work with people who have experienced and those who use violence as this is a high percentage of our core business. About the Team: Our team works together to create trusted places where people gather, community is strong and lives are transformed. We walk with each person to understand the unique circumstances of their life and we empower them to live well through practical and reliable support. About You: The successful applicant will bring: Tertiary qualifications in relevant human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling) or equivalent demonstrated experience Clinical membership of relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA - Psychotherapy and Counsellors Association of Australia) Demonstrated experience & skills in counselling and group work including child-focused counselling/play therapy Experience in providing counselling in an agency setting Demonstrated experience & skills in individual and group settings with people experiencing and/or using Domestic Family Violence (leading DV programs/groups) Experience in trauma-informed practice Demonstrated experience relating to diverse groups, e.g. Government departments & other agencies Understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and promoting the organisation’s values through interactions at work Understanding of inclusive, respectful practice when working with First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIA+ and people with disabilities An ability and willingness to promote the ethos, purpose and values of BaptistCare Demonstrated commitment to social justice outcomes in counselling & group work Excellent written & oral communication skills Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) Willing to undergo a Police Check Current Drivers’ License About Us: BaptistCare is a leading for-purpose Christian-based care organisation that supports thousands of people across more than 100 locations in NSW, ACT and WA.
