As a Technical Consultant you will deliver strategic consultancy services to Commercial’s clients that improve their business and promote the use of hybrid cloud, modern workplace and security technologies. You will have an innovative mindset, keeping up with new technologies and be able to demonstrate the ability to learn from customer perspectives.

You will work in collaboration with our Technical Architecture and Project Management teams to deliver solutions to clients aligned to the project scope and design specifications, adhering to industry best practices.

You will have experience in consulting and delivering projects aligned to Commercial’s IT pillars for a variety of customers.

The role involves the technical implementation, configuration, and migration activities as per the defined design documentation to new and existing clients. The activities may be conducted both in and out of business hours, with the requirement to be available on allocated weekends and for ad-hoc evening work. This is remunerated on a retainer basis, with overtime paid at Commercials standard overtime rates.

This varied role will involve a combination of working out of our head office in Cheltenham, remotely from home and moderate travel to our client sites throughout the UK as required.

Your responsibilities as a Technical Consultant will be:

Implement technical solutions and projects in line with the deliverables detailed within the Project Scope, and to the specifications detailed in the Low-Level Design document.

To perform full functional testing of all solutions delivered.

To ensure that all solutions within the project are delivered as per industry best practices and vendor architecture principles.

To document all solutions delivered accurately.

To perform thorough handovers of all solutions delivered to clients.

To assist with transitioning the solution to Commercial’s Network Operation Centre as part of the run operations.

To deliver strategic consultancy to clients.

To perform chargeable discovery assessments and audits as and when required

To assist with Technical Architecture as and when required

To regularly contribute to thought leadership posts and collateral.

About you

A passion for technology and a desire to stay ahead of the technology curve that will help us lead the market and exceed customer expectations

Have a strong understanding of migration complexities and proven track record in the successful delivery of enterprise migration projects.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders

Self-motivated with the ability to identify priorities and manage multiple workloads.

Excellent time management skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality of output.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction

Demonstrate problem solving abilities, being able to think on your feet and handle unexpected challenges efficiently

You will be certified to implement solutions in Cloud, Modern Workplace or Datacentre technologies, holding industry accreditations equivalent to Microsoft AZ-104 / AZ-140 / MS-102 / MD-102, HPE ASE, Aruba ACMA and Fortinet Certified Professional.
