CBTax are seeking a Technical Consultant to join our team to support the firm's continued growth across the UK. Candidates will have a desire to further their career into a consultative role, and to prepare financial and technical reports for submission to HMRC. It is essential that the right candidate wants to build a career in supporting clients in the engineering field on a consulting basis. The role will offer potential to a driven and dynamic person to develop within the professional services industry, and all CBTax Engineering Graduates will also be fully supported in future training and continuous professional development. Required Experience: Science/Engineering (or similar) degree or post-graduate qualification. 2 years' experience working in Engineering/Industrial field. Desire to learn about preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims in the sector. Adept at translating technical conversation into concise and compelling written documents. Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and first-time accuracy. Demonstrate an understanding of wider business and economic issues. Interact readily with technical professionals, and have outstanding interpersonal skills. Comfortable working autonomously and in a close team. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word packages. Preferred Experience: Prior R&D Tax Credit experience and understanding of the tax claim process. Key Responsibilities: Identifying qualifying R&D projects through participation in technical discussions with clients. Technical assessment of projects in-line with HMRC R&D tax relief guidelines and preparation of supporting technical documentation. Interaction with clients' technical and financial staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of claim benefit value in-line with HMRC's R&D Tax Relief Guidelines. Preparation of claim reports and documentation for client review and approval. Managing R&D claims and maintaining client information via CRM system. Providing support to R&D tax relief claims in the event of HMRC enquiries.
